Job Description
Previously a Local Authority Estates and Property department which has now externalised and offers a complete range of property related engineering and construction services for the authority as well as bidding for work in the private sector.
Reporting to the Project Leader you will assist in ensuring the competitive, efficient and effective delivery of property services.
Working within a multidisciplinary team your duties will include:
- The preparation of drawings, specifications and contract documentation whilst managing and administering building contracts in an efficient and timely manner.
- Undertaking surveys and preparing records of existing buildings and sites.
- Liaising with the Project Leader to ensure that allocated projects achieve time and cost targets.
- Working as a Project Leader of a multidisciplinary team for small/medium sized projects, where you will liaise with clients to plan, agree and monitor projects to meet agreed client requirements.
Qualifications/Skills Required
An experienced Architectural Technologist and preferably a member of CIAT, you will have good knowledge of building construction materials and of contracts and legislation i.e. CDM Regulations and Planning.
The ability to work as an individual or as a team member you will be a confident communicator whether dealing with colleagues or clients, showing a commitment to customer service and the delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Familiar with the risks and hazards associated with asbestos, you must have relevant health and safety knowledge and hold a valid driving license, with access to a vehicle.
