Job Description
·Must be a member of R.I.C.S
·Carry out inspections of building work.
·Responding to building notices, including site meetings with the person carrying out the work to discuss and advise on ways of gaining compliance often where no building plans exist.
·Dealing with all aspects of regularisation applications.
·Attending court.
·Supervision of work resulting from the service of Notice under Section 78 of the Building Act.
·Holding preliminary site meetings with architects, structural engineers, builders and members of the public.
·Inspecting demolitions to ensure that conditions set out in Section 81 of the Building Act are complied with.
·Appraise and recommend a decision on plans and building work specifications.
Qualifications/Skills Required
Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors OR equivalent qualification, plus evidence of continuing professional development.
