Job Description
Our client is looking for a Senior Buyer to take on all operational activities within the Logistics and Operations department. This will involve responsibilities from estimating through to delivery to the client. The role will necessitate extensive work with global suppliers and liason with Sales and Design, to ensure that projects are completed in time and comply with quality standards.
The main duties of this role are:
-Take ownership of all major projects.
-Lead supplier selection, development and performance initiatives on a worldwide level.
-Liase directly with global offices, travelling to sites if necessary.
-Be pro-active on production issues.
-Take regular involvement with other operational functions, such as Sales and Design, particularly during concept design and development stages.
-Support buyers within the team on their projects.
Key Accountabilities:
-Provide accurate estimates of the cost of projects.
-Manage the progress of projects, from supplier briefing to completion.
-To ensure appropriate quality assurance is maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
-Ensure invoicing for each project is initiated promptly
Experience:
-3 to 5 years experience of buying metal, plastics and wood, ideally for a light manufacturing company.
