MSB Supply Chain on behalf of their FTSE 100 client have a position for an senior buyer, from a financial or Telecoms background Responsibilities Deliver a Group-wide interlocked & approved IP sourcing strategy which delivers measurable benefit and a step-change approach. Interlock with Supply Chain to ensure sourcing strategy is complementary to supply chain requirements International sourcing to deliver measurable value Candidate Profile Educated to degree level Procurement qualification (ideally CIPS) Essential experience : Executive engagement IP / telephony experience useful in understanding channel, brand, distribution, supplier development and commercial leverage and contracting. Proven commercial and purchasing skills particularly negotiating and supplier management of large equipment suppliers with ability to leverage commercially. Proven track record in change management and ability to develop out of the box strategies and opportunities for organisations and implement those strategies. International experience an added benefit. Procurement competencies : Procurement Knowledge - An intimate knowledge in telephony and networks purchasing. Strategic Sourcing - Develops best practice Procurement processes, policies and procedures and seeks out innovative commercial approaches Project Management - a structured approach to working and planned approach to sourcing activities Financial Analysis - Produces high level financial models to assess the Cost/Benefit effect of different sourcing strategies Industry Analysis - Assesses supply market conditions by analysing the buyer community, supplier community, internal competition, barriers to entry, and substitute products as input into category strategy development. Negotiation - Excels in negotiation tactics and techniques in order to achieve optimal results. Works across the organisation to support negotiations Supplier Management - Develops mutually beneficial relationships and partnerships with key suppliers Problem-solving and decision-making - Ability to analyse data and extrapolate relevant information, identifies root causes of problems and think creatively around issues to develop solutions. Decisions should always be based on facts and data Communications - Conducts verbal and written communications in a confident, articulate manner.
