Job Description

Overall Purpose of Position:

Manage the capacity of the Prepay service infrastructure (including data networks, hardware and storage systems) and to drive improvements and efficiency in the above infrastructure.
To produce Capacity Plans which are key to ensuring efficient utilisation of resources, and the timely acquisition and deployment of future technology and resources.

Skills Required:

At least three years experience of capacity planning.
Experience of capacity planning and forecasting of service and data network growth, including the production of equipment forecasts and costs.
Ability to conduct technical interviews and present findings to technical and non-technical colleagues.
Have produced capacity plans across a broad base of systems and had those plans adopted by the business.
Statistical numeracy
Awareness of the criticality of cost effective planning methodologies.
Good understanding of Open Systems servers (HP and Sun), databases (Oracle and DB2) and storage (EMC) in large scale environments.
Good knowledge and experience of Sun and HP hardware configuration and performance, and Oracle and DB2 databases as deployed in a real-time telecoms infrastructure.
Good understanding of the performance and capacity drivers and constraints of servers and data networks.
Experience of preparing business cases.
Understanding of Investment Management best practices.
