Job Description

Senior Design Engineer
Senior Design Engineer to act as the lead within a design team on designated projects. The successful candidate will:
Prepare all Infrastructure drawings using AutoCAD and other proprietary design software.
Undertake negotiations with statutory utilities.
Understand and implement designs on private areas to comply with Building Regulations.
Manage drawing production.
Carry out value engineering of each project.
Liaise with Infrastructure and Structural Engineer to ensure project information is complete, cross-referenced and distributed on time and within budget.
Carry out project reviews and prepare pre-acquisition reports.
Maintain and develop technical or management capability through CPD.
Input to financial project management.
Have responsibility for implementing Quality and SHEMS procedures at project level.
Educated to minimum HNC or Degree level equivalent, you will also be able to manage people, processes, and time and effectively motivate team members.

The ability to understand and manage programmes, in particular Critical Path is required, together with a working knowledge of Autocad R2000 or later revision, experience of Microsoft programmes and the ability to analyze and monitor financial statements. Previous experience in drawing production management within a development organisation or consulting engineer is preferred.

The successful candidate will be a wide and forward thinker, with a proactive approach, well organised and capable of organising others.

A clear communicator with all disciplines at all levels, particularly in meetings, we are looking for a strong team player with a good sense of humour, energetic outlook and committed to a health and safety culture.

Qualifications/Skills Required

Educated to minimum HNC or Degree level equivalent, you will also be able to manage people, processes, and time and effectively motivate team members.
