Job Description

An international multi-disciplinary consultancy to the built, natural, social and economic environment is seeking a Senior Ecologist to work in its Manchester office. The organisation provides a range of high quality engineering, environmental, planning and management services to a diverse range of clients in the public and private sectors and to social and economic regeneration projects worldwide.

The role will involve managing projects from inception to completion; undertaking general and specialist field surveys (including Phase I (ecologist position)/ extended Phase I (senior position)); writing concise high quality reports; providing specialist input to EIA (eg. Protected species, ornithological, botanical); and writing proposals.
Work may involve fieldwork during evenings/early morning and staying away from base for a few days at a time.

Qualifications/Skills Required

- 3 years relevant experience following appropriate degree
- Sound surveying skills
- Basic knowledge of current legislation
- A clean driving licence
- Ability to undertake field work on a variety of types and sizes of site
