A large multi disciplinary engineering consultancy with offices throughout the UK and internationally. With over 7,000 staff this consultancy are the second largest overall and the have the fifth largest rail team in the UK. They are Investor's in People accredited and feel they have an open and honest culture across the group.

The York office is well established and incorporates highways, rail and bridges disciplines. There are currently 25 Engineers within the rail team in York working regionally with the office in Manchester.

A Senior Engineer (Rail Structures) is required to join the York office. Your role will involve the delivery of outputs in accordance with project scope, including designs, drawings, specification and technical reports. You will also be required to mentor and train less experienced staff, manage financial aspects of projects and ensure technical accuracy of designs and design outputs.

Qualifications/Skills Required

To apply for the position of Senior Engineer (Rail Structures) you must be degree qualified in either civil or structural engineering with experience of the design of bridges and / or structures to British standards or equivalent. You should have experience of bridge assessment, inspection of structures and preparation of technical reports. You should also feel able to manage and deliver small projects. You will ideally have achieved Chartered status with either the IStructE or ICE.
