Job Description

Senior Geotechnical/Geo-Environmental Engineer
A leading consultancy is seeking a senior geotechnical/geo-environmental engineer to work in its Environmental Section and liaise with Geotechnical Engineers, Engineering Geologists & Hydrologists in other sections to deliver a co-ordinated land reclamation service to developers.

Candidates should possess a degree in a relevant subject and at least four years relevant experience including site investigation and land reclamation, development control process and dealing with private sector developers. A working knowledge of house construction and foundation design would be advantageous.

Candidates are required to demonstrate an understanding of land remediation and be able to design & implement site investigations into the chemical & geotechnical issues relating to ground contamination, landfill gas and the protection of controlled waters. Applicants will be able to carry out risk assessments using CLEA & R&D P20 techniques and prepare remediation strategies based on the results.

Qualifications/Skills Required

- Degree in relevant subject
- 4 years relevant experience
- A working knowledge of house construction and foundation design would be advantageous
- Demonstrate an understanding of land remediation
- Able to design & implement site investigations
