The team in the North East has 4 members with a broad range of skills in river engineering and the desire to double their numbers within the next 2 years so this is an exciting time to join a progressive and ambitious team. This vacancy represents a key appointment in our clients river engineering team and you will play a vital part in the future development of the team and the business unit.
Working with existing clients, including the EA, you will be required to seek out opportunities to add value to the service you deliver and also pursue new business development opportunities in the fields of flood risk management, flood risk assessment and environmental water management.
With the support of existing staff you will be involved with developing the strategic flood risk management, flood risk assessment, and environmental water management business with a particular focus on developing our clients hydraulic modelling capability.
It will be your responsibility to meet clients to progress and develop schemes and you will have a lead role in compiling bids and proposals for new work.
On the technical side your role will ultimately be that of Project Manager and you will be required to manage a multi-project portfolio to ensure it's timely delivery through effective resource and programme management.

Qualifications/Skills Required
This important appointment in the team requires a candidate with the enthusiasm and desire to take on the challenge of the position and the confidence and ability to make it a success.
You will need to hold a relevant Masters degree (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate strong knowledge in some of the following areas:
- Hydraulic modelling of river courses
- Hydrology
- Project management of river engineering schemes
- Competency in relevant software packages:FEH and/or ISIS,
- Knowledge of PPS25 and related guidance
- Flood risk assessment
Chartership is preferred and a good understanding of GIS.
