Job Description

Senior Street Lighting Engineer
Established in 1969, this listed company has grown to having over 100 offices worldwide and more than 5000 staff operating across the spectrum of technical design.

Presently working in over 60 countries, circa 80% of their turnover comes from the UK and Scandinavia.

Senior Street Lighting Engineer required to join a team in Manchester and take a lead design role on a busy workload of new build and replacement street lighting projects. The design side of your role will give you the opportunity to work on both minor and major highways schemes.

Other aspects of your role will include:

- Supervision of road lighting and signing works
- Approval of Section 38/106/278 schemes
- Inspection of street lighting, road signs and traffic signals

You will also be expected to liaise with your client to deliver agreed design packages and to act as a mentor to junior staff.

This is a new role in a growing team and can offer excellent career prospects.

Qualifications/Skills Required

To carry out this role an accomplished design engineer is required and you will need to be well versed in contract preparation and production of technical design packages and reports.

As well as being up to date with the latest traffic management design standards you will need to have a good understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and you will need to be computer literate.

You should be comfortable in a client facing role and confident acting as a company representative at public sector meetings.

The ideal candidate will be an Incorporated Electrical Engineer or a Member of the Institution of Lighting Engineers but applications are welcome from those who can demonstrate significant design experience.
