Their Street Lighting Team is c25 personnel spread across their UK offices. With an order book stretching well into 2008 they are a thriving business unit within the group and have ambitious yet realistic growth plans for the future. In order to meet these they are actively recruiting for their teams in Manchester, Newcastle and Leeds.
Project scope is as varied as you could hope for and ranges from small scale residential schemes through to major motorway projects including the design for the single largest scheme in the UK to install 1000+ columns on a section of the M1. Other projects include various Local Authority / PFI schemes, Private developments, Highways Agency MAC contracts and a large body of work for TfL.

This newly created vacancy is a key appointment in the team and you will be responsible for managing the design stage on a number of street lighting schemes. Typically you can expect to work on 3-6 projects at a time depending on their size and as a Senior Engineer you will be expected to provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
Working in support of a PE your role will include design of new and refurbishment street lighting schemes including S38 / S106 / S278 schemes and you will also be required to supervise site works as necessary.
Other aspects of the role will include acting as a point of contact with your client base, updating and maintaining technical documents and assisting in business development including production of tender documents for new projects.

Qualifications/Skills Required
To be considered for the role of Senior Street Lighting Engineer there are a number of key requirements including:
- Relevant academic qualifications
- Previous design experience
- Good technical report writing skills
- Ability to manage a busy workload
- Confidence leading a team
- Good communication skills
- Computer literacy
- Professional accreditation / membership of ILE
