They operate on an international scale and their engineering expertise draws upon multiple disciplines to create design solutions that are breath-taking in scope: from road schemes, bridges, harbours, schools, sports stadia and offices, to hotels, hospitals and tall buildings.
There are 50 staff currently in the Manchester office, including 22 Structural Engineers and Technicians. After recently appointing a new Office Director the team are at an exciting stage in their development. Current projects being run from Manchester include a football stadium, a brand new office space in central Manchester and a new build higher education facility, amongst others.
A Senior Structural Engineer is required to join the office in Manchester at a crucial and exciting time, to help lead and grow a structural engineering team. Your role will involve the management and delivery of multiple projects on time and on budget simultaneously. You will be required to liaise with clients, colleagues and architects with all projects being architecturally led and collaborative across multiple disciplines.
As Senior Structural Engineer you will be required to act as Job Leader and sometimes Project Leader. Part of your role will be to prepare technical and financial proposals for new work, and to plan and monitor your expenditure on projects. You will also check work of your team members and will monitor the financial performance of jobs.
Qualifications/Skills Required
To apply for the position of Senior Structural Engineer you should be a qualified Structural Engineer with significant experience in a similar design role. To achieve the top end of the salary bracket you should also be a Chartered Engineer with a relevant professional institution such as IStructE. You should have a good understanding of architecture and should be passionate about sustainable, design orientated engineering.
