Job Description

Social Inclusion Administrator
*To contribute to ESF provider briefings in January 2005 highlighting providers' responsibilities for equality and diversity as part of their ESF project delivery and reporting arrangements
*To contribute to the development of an ESF provider handbook, summarising providers' responsibilities for equality and diversity
*To develop briefing materials to support the equal opportunities elements of ESF contract manager training associated with the 2005 ESF tendering round
*To review the Equal Opportunities policies submitted by successful ESF tenderers and identify follow up action required. To support the development funding team and ESF contract managers in their negotiations with ESF providers on making improvements to their equal opportunities policies, where appropriate, and to advise on whether the revised policies can be accepted by London Central
*To help establish a reporting framework between the social inclusion team and, development funding team and ESF contract managers' team on progress with ESF funded projects that fall within the remit of the social inclusion team and to identify how the social inclusion team can best support ESF contract managers in their work with individual providers on social inclusion issues
*To organise a series of four 2 hour themed provider events in spring 2005 to highlight successes/challenges in terms of meeting the needs of specific client groups (for example refugees and asylum seekers or young people in the NEET group), building on the work of the previous two series' of such events in summer and autumn 2004
Equality and Diversity
*To analyse provider, sector and London Central level student data to identify the key equality and diversity challenges in the area and to contribute to the development of strategies to address these
*To work with staff in the operations directorate of London Central to ensure further education and adult and community learning providers address equality and diversity impact measures (EDIMs) as part of the three year development planning process, and to monitor the implementation of EDIMs that have already been set within the Work Based Learning sector
*To assist with the identification of need for, and the delivery of, a support programme for al providers, including ESF providers on meeting their responsibilities under equalities legislation
*To contribute to the development of an London Central publication summarising E&D priorities and strategies to address them
*To work with colleagues internally to develop strategies to challenge gender stereotyping in the apprenticeship programme (and employment more widely) [in response to an Equal Opportunities Commission investigation into this area]
*To maintain and develop the equality and diversity section of the LSC London Central intanet and to introduce an equality and diversity section within the external website
To contribute to the social inclusion team's promotional work, including the production of fact sheets/case studies and articles for internal or external publication on social inclusion issues
