Main purpose of job
To give monthly supervision to foster carers in their own homes, and undertake support tasks for the Operations Manager
Duties and responsibilities
· Undertake monthly competency based supervision of foster carers
· Undertake monthly supervision of Workers
· Carry out updated assessments of approved foster carers
· Matching Looked After Children to foster care placements
· Work to the best interests of children and young people, at all times
· Write, update and present reports both internally and externally
· Attend meetings including LAC placement meetings, reviews, child protection conferences, Panel and court attendance
· Support the implementation of the National Care Standards
· Keep full accurate written records, in line with National Care Standards
· Act in accordance with statutory guidelines and agency policies and procedures at all times
· Agency developmental work, for example expanding local authority contacts
· Take part in a 24-hour on call rota (telephone based, and shared between 6 people)
· Make a commitment to own supervision and keep to any agreed on-going personal and professional development plans, including where this is needed to meet legislation
· Undertake other delegated tasks, as allocated
All candidates must be GSCC registered and have an Enhanced Disclosure Dated within the last 12 months
