Job Description

Support Services Manager
This company is a forward thinking Wakefield based building maintenance and refurbishment contractor, employing 130 staff, generating sales of £7.0m per annum.

Our client is looking for a Support Services Manager to cover Health & Safety, Environmental, QA, and IIP.

The duties and responsibilities of the role will involve the following:

Establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications and systems to ensure:

Existence and awareness of a suitable and relevant health and safety policy.
The Company is a safe workplace without risk to health.
Provision of suitable and current information concerning health and safety policies and practices.
Proper and timely assessment of risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures and arrangements identified as necessary from the assessments.
Liaison as necessary with other organisations and relevant authorities, and assistance and cooperation concerning audits and remedial actions.
The workplace satisfies all health, safety and welfare requirements.
Surveillance and reporting on health and safety practices and systems.

The successful candidate will also be tasked with obtaining and retaining ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & IIP accreditations.

The role will directly report to the Managing Director.

Qualifications/Skills Required

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate calibre candidate to join the progressive and forward thinking company. Ideally you will be IOSH accredited and possibly NEBOSH, though this is not entirely a health & safety role and more emphasis will be placed on the auditing, systems and QA skills and experience of potential candidates than H&S.

Please note: Applications will not be considered from those candidates who are not entitled to work within the UK or the country of the advertised vacancy.
