Job Description
My London based rail client requires an experienced Systems Engineer to work in one of their main depots. You will be responsible for improving the performance of all the fleet. The principle objective will be to identify and implement the technical and non-technical solutions necessary to increase the MDBF of the fleet from 10,000 to 25,000km by introducing appropriate systems engineering techniques to the business.
The post holder will have a key role in developing a high performance, responsive fleet support organisation.
The main duties to be expected are:
• Developing a reliability model for rolling stock to identify, plan and monitor actions required to achieve required performance levels including interfaces with operator and signalling systems.
• Carry out gap analysis and identify risk areas
• Develop and validate process to identify problems, containment measures, investigate alternative solutions, implementation measures and evaluate performance
• Influence and coach reliability engineers in data collection, root cause anaylsis and developing effective solutions
• Develop and source training package and identify technical competences for vehicle systems.
Required Skills
• Electrical/electronic engineering degree
• Expert knowledge of modern electric multiple unit systems, sub-systems and components including traction, auxiliary, protection and brake equipment
• Expert knowledge of reliability analysis and growth techniques
• A proven track record of implementing reliability growth over last 10 years.
