Job Description
As part of the Regional Jet aircraft program with the Avionics systems group, the candidate will be primarily responsible for the integration of the avionics upgrades (to maintain aircraft airworthiness or as part of regular design evolution) for systems such as Navigation, Communication, EICAS, EFIS, FMS, AFCS, Stall Protection, FDR, CVR and ISI systems. In addition, the candidate will be responsible to support other systems’ interfacing with the Avionics equipment. The integration consists of coordinating with system and structure suppliers to ensure proper integration. Also, coordinating and participating in system design reviews, integration testing activities, preparation of specification documents, review of vendor / supplier documents, troubleshooting on aircraft and preparation of compliance reports. Finally, the candidate will be responsible to identify Avionics system changes to accommodate options and special customer requirements.
Qualifications/Skills Required
• The candidate shall possess an Electrical/ Electronics engineering bachelor degree and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience. The candidate shall be knowledgeable with certification process with Transport Canada, EASA and FAA especially FAR/JAR 25. The candidate shall be familiar with Avionics equipment qualification of hardware such as DO-160, software such as DO-178, communication protocol/interface, and with fundamental Reliability & Maintainability concepts. Previous experience on Rockwell Collins equipment such as DCU's , PFD's and MDC are definite assets.
• Good oral and writing skills in French and English are required.
• The candidate shall possess the ability to work with a minimum supervision, be a team player and have project organization skills. The candidate shall also be a person with initiative, strong sense of responsibility and good engineering judgment.
• The candidate shall be available for traveling if necessary. Priority will be given to individuals that have experience on CRJ-200, CRJ-700 and/or CRJ-900 avionics systems
