Job Description

Technical Product Manager
TECHNICAL PRODUCT MANAGER £35000 TO £55000 COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE, FULL BENEFIT PACKAGE.

My client is the leading contract manufacturers for the VMS industry. Working in a dynamic market place, dealing with many of Europe's leading VMS brands, product development and innovation are key to the future growth of the company.

Reporting to the Technical Director, the Technical Product Manager is responsible for all aspects of Product Development within the company. This is a key role in the company and interfaces with all departments. The role comprises:

- Creating workable formulations from ideas generated by the customers and the Sales team.
- Being proactive in formulating new products to “sell” to the sales team, driven by new materials, research or media.
- Providing support to manufacturing to ensure that new products transfer well from development to full scale production.
- Providing “trouble-shooting” support to production to help solve problems ‘on the job'.
- Looking at ways that we can improve manufacturing output and efficiency.
- Supporting QA by creating documentation and formulation specifications in accordance with our MHRA licence & GMP.
- Providing technical support to the sales team & their customers.
- Helping the company to remain competitive in a price sensitive market by working with the Purchasing and QC teams to help to source and approve new materials and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will:

- Be of graduate calibre with a science based degree (preferably Chemistry or Pharma Technology)
- Have experience of contract manufacturing, preferably tabletting.
- Be willing to keep up to date with trends in the VMS / Nutrition industry and with developments in legislation.
- Be commercially aware and have an appreciation of what drives cost.
- Have a common sense, practical approach.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
