A Temporary Works Designer is required to join a team in Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Structural / Site Engineer to join a major construction company. Current workload includes a large number of prestigious ongoing projects in both the Education and Healthcare sectors, including a number of high profile PFI projects.
Duties will include:
• The design of temporary works solutions under strict time scales.
• Liaison and negotiation with site personnel, design teams and specialist subcontractor
• Determining temporary works requirements from drawings, documentation and ground investigation.
• Liaising with building control and statutory bodies.
• Producing design drawings and method statements for the installation of temporary works schemes on site.
• Providing risk assessments associated with the design.
• Attend and minute engineering related meetings.
Qualifications/Skills Required
To apply for the position of Temporary Works Design Engineer you must be a degree qualified Civil / Structural Engineer, able to design in steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber. You must have demonstrable previous experience within a UK Engineering Consultancy or Contractor. Ideally you will have previous temporary works design experience in formworks, falseworks scaffolding, foundations and ground supports, though a general structural engineering background will be considered. You should be able to produce detailed calculations and drawings of structural steelwork elements.
