Job Description

This design consultancy, part of a larger international group, employs around 260 staff, 160 of whom are based in York. The smaller offices are growing considerably and also developing new business for the company.

At present rail projects and associated infrastructure encompasses the greatest part of their workload. As the teams across the country expand and additional expertise is brought into the company their range of work will expand.

Located in the centre of York the office is directly opposite the train station in a sixties office block which has to some extent been redeveloped internally. There is parking with plenty of car parks locally, the proximity to the train station is ideal for commuters.

A Track Engineer is required to join the design team in York. You will provide design support to Lead Engineers on a variety of track projects. You will be responsible for delivery of projects on time and to budget, using MxRail and Microstation to prepare alignment designs. You should feel able to take ownership of project elements allocated to you, and will act as Lead Surveyor on site undertaking topographical surveys or plain line hallade surveys.

Qualifications/Skills Required

To apply for the position of Track Engineer you will be qualfiied to HNC or degree level in civil or mechanical engineering. You must have previous experience working within a permanent engineering environment. A full UK driving licence is also essential.
