Traffic Engineer

We are looking for a Traffic Engineer to work in the team delivering the Local Safety Scheme programme 2005-06
Most of the schemes are route treatments. They involve the relocation of pedestrian crossing & bus stops, kerb realignment, provision/removal of central island, stats diversion, traffic signals, etc
The successful candidate will be expected to manage 3 or 4 schemes from start to finish. This will include, design, estimate, consult, supervise the implementation, agree final measure, etc
This position offers regular contact with elected members, various contractors, and the public. The candidate should therefore have good presentation skills, oral and written, and be able to represent the Council.
As site visits will be an integral part of the job, a driving licence is essential for this position.
Three to four years relevant experience in Traffic Engineering is essential.
